Islamic financing models are globally entering mainstream economics, with many international banks adopting Shariah-compliant products. The conference will aim to educate and introduce the Shariah concepts & rules about Islamic banking, financing and insurance (takaful) and highlight current successful practical applications worldwide.

However, this field is relatively new and many people do not know about it. Hence we are looking for representatives to help promote the conference throughout the country. This can be done in several ways:

Advertising Managers who are responsible for:

1. Placing flyers in various mosques and prayer spaces
2. Distributing flyers @ major events happening in your city before the conference
3. Distributing flyers at Friday prayers
4. Posting details of the conference on popular local websites and of course, on facebook.
5. Advertising the conference to friends, family, and colleagues.
6. Having emails sent out on popular community mailing lists.
7. All material will be either mailed to you, or if more convenient, you can print the flyers and be reimbursed for the expenditure.

Transportation Managers: (in large cities)

1. Look into arranging transportation based on the number of participants. Basically, you’d look into yellow pages and Muslim businesses to gauge your best option for rental. If we get a large number of delegates from your city, we’d arrange a bus or carpool. To make this process easier, an online system will be setup that will allow people to carpool inshallah.
2. If carpooling, link people up with each other.
3. Also coordinate departure and arrial timings for the conference. Managers should try their best to arrange for a central location, and encourage all cars to leave together.
4. You also need to ensure all participants have lodging in Ottawa. The hotel options will be put up on the website. Some may choose to stay with friends.
5. And finally, you need to know how to get to the Ottawa Congress Centre :)
